How to choose an Air Duct Cleaning company if they all are samely NADCA or BPI certified? And I have no idea what it means

That's how most of us feel when choosing between A1 or A2, but they're both A : )
Homeowners, apartment owners, and tenants do not know all the certifications that ventilation cleaning companies get. This information is vital to commercial building managers.

Going to the websites of service companies, we see icons of certificates and awards, which in our eyes serve to decorate the page. We don't understand them. But at least 15 times in our life we use the services of such companies.

Let's try to figure out what is essential to pay attention to when choosing a service provider
NADCA stands for National Air Duct Cleaners Association.

The association develops and researches the HVAC hygiene industry, based on which industry standards are created.

To become a NADCA Certified Member, a company must have at least one Air System Cleaner on staff and adhere to NADCA standards. Once certified, technicians receive updated information on new equipment, cleaning technologies, and advanced cleaning procedures. Certified companies keep abreast of the latest industry solutions.

When choosing a NADCA certified company, you choose a company that has taken the time to train the team and prepare for professional work. You choose quality service.

When we choose a company for a service, we usually search in Google for something like

Best/top-rated Air Duct Cleaning Staten Island
(Quality; Service name; Location) we can as well specify the source of the listings (Yelp, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, Angie's List…)

And we get looooooong lists of companies which are to be filtered.

Filter 1

We study listing reviews. And we choose 3-5 companies with high ratings.

Filter 2

We go to websites and study offers. And here we are faced with the first problem – the same thing is written on all pages. Something like “NADCA certified top-rated NYC based company. Licensed. 8 am to 8 pm daily.” How to choose if all offers and descriptions are the same?

Filter 3

At this stage, we fill out the form on the website and wait for a call.
It is essential to pay attention here not only to the cost of the service and here's why:
Callback speed. We are unlikely to trust a company that calls back an hour or more during business hours. If the support department is performing poorly, it can be assumed how things are with the technicians.

1. Does the support team representative listen to us respectfully and attentively?
2. Can they explain how the service is done step by step?
3. Please specify that during the visit, the technician will pre-name the cost of the service, which will not double when the work is done. A technician in the process is faced with a larger scale problem than the one stated by the client. For example, there are cracks in the ducts of several centimeters, and the apartment/house needs to be sealed.
4. Check if the company offers seasonal discounts.
5. Specify how you will get the photos before and after cleaning if the company provides them.

We now have a list of 1 or 2 companies, from which you can choose the one that will quickly find a convenient time in the schedule.
Please, leave your phone number here :)
