Chimneys should be cleaned once a year. As stated by the National Fire Protection "Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents should be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and appropriate clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary."

Level I is sufficient for annual inspection. It involves a detailed visual inspection of the chimney or stove and the adjoining connector pipe.
Level II includes Level I + a live video scan of the chimney interior to examine buildup, debris, and any damage.

Poorly sealed facility envelopes cause significant air leakage. It reduces building comfort and allows extra moisture, drafts, and undesired noise to enter. Air leakage decreases Indoor air quality by allowing dust and airborne pollutants into the building.
